How to : Reset & Recover ZKTime.Net 3.0 Admin Password

ZKTime.Net 3.0 : Administrator Password Recovery

When we install the software ZKTime.Net 3.0 on our computer, the program asks us to create an admin user with password to secure the access to the software. But as human we may often forget this password and we are stuck in the situation that we can't no longer open our software. Sometimes the person in charge has resigned without leaving any information about the software (Ohh my God !!)

In this tutorial, i'm going to show you how you can easily sovle this problem without losing your data (attendance logs, employee list, shifts configuration ...)

PS : this solution is not working for ZKTime.Net 3.3 because username and password are encrypted in this version.

What do you need ?

Full access to the computer where ZKTime.Net 3.0 is installed
SQLite Database tool. The best and easiest one is DB Browser for SQLite.

Follow the steps below to recover ZKTime.Net 3.0 Password :

1- Dowload the tool DB Browser for SQLite from the official website available for 32bits and 64 bits. You can choose between the installer version or the portable (Personally i work with the portable version because i don't use it)

After the download is complete, install DB Browser for SQLite or extract it to a folder if you choose the PortableApp

2- Now, locate the ZKTime.Net 3.0 database file : by default the software database file is located in the program folder with the name "ZKTimeNet.db" :

The full path for this database file is C:\Program Files (x86)\ZKTeco\ZKTimeNet.db (for Windows 64 bits) and C:\Program Files\ZKTeco\ZKTimeNet.db (for Windows 32 bits)

3- Launch DB Browser for SQLite , then click on Open Database button and browse to the database file location as mentionned above.

Select the file ZKTimeNet.db then click Open

4- Go to Browse Data tab , select the table sys_users. There you go ! you just found the administrator information including the login and the password.

At this time you can either change the password or just copy it and use it to open your ZKTime.Net.
