How to reset the admin password for ZKAccess 3.5.5.1
ZKAccess 3.5 is one of ZKTeco professional softwares that is widely used to manage the access control settings on some ZKTeco devices like InBio series, MA500, C2 & C3 Control Panels...etc.
Like any ZKTeco software, the ZKAccess 3.5 requires a username and password in order to open it. However, sometimes for different reasons, this login and/or password may be lost. As a result, you find yourself stuck with inaccessible data in this software.
This software comes with two versions : ZKAccess 3.5.2 and ZKAccess 3.5.5.1.
In this post, I'm going to share with you how to recover and reset the admin password for ZKAccess 3.5.5.1 without losing your employees data.
If you have the ZKAccess 3.5.2, check the video below to know how to recover the admin password for this version.
What do you need ?
- Have a full access to the computer where ZKAccess 3.5.5.1 is installed
- A valid version of Microsoft Access installed on this computer (even if it's a trial version that's fine, just make sure you can edit files with it)
Step 1 : Locate the database file
ZKAccess 3.5.5.1 uses a Microsoft Access file as default database, and it's default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\ZKTeco\ZKAccess3.5\access.mdb.
Step 2 : Find out the admin password
Double-click the database file (access.mdb), scroll down the tables list and open the table named auth_user. You will see the admin username and password.
Now you can log in to your software using the information above that you found in the database.
